The three sea days were quiet and relaxing.... we didn't get up to any mischief. Tried to exercise but it was so cold and windy that it was dangerous on deck with the sea spray. We played cards, went to trivia competitions and the evening shows were brilliant.
We arrived in Valparaiso at about 4am. It is a busy dock and lots of activity. We alighted the ship and jumped on a tour bus at 8.30. A two hour drive into the capital, Santiago. We've been there before so it was reminiscent for us. The weather was kind - cloudy and not too hot. Our tour guide took us to the Plaza del Armas - the main square where the big Catholic church is, and a few shops. I had a 'shoe shine' for $US2 and tried to speak spanish to the Señor!
Next was a trip to the airport and it took us nearly 3 hrs to check in. Lines were long and there are 71 of us on this tour! Our plane to Lima, Peru left at 4pm for the 3hr 15min flight. It was another interesting experience with a lady almost fainting and the general call went out for a doctor on board!
We all safely arrived in Lima. Hotel Ramada right outside the international terminal. Beautiful. We are leaving shortly to find a domestic flight to Cuzco today. Pisac Markets - here we come!!!

Meeting some of the Carabineros - police everywhere in the centre of Santiago... horses are so beautiful!
