Thursday, January 8 - At Sea!

Not much in the way of exciting activity today…..  however, we did go to the  lecture about Port Stanley, in the Falkland Islands.  It is a British colony with its own governor, population approximately 4000 people.  We went to deck 16 mid-morning, to the Skywalkers lounge to meet some people that Kerren had found in an online forum, mainly Americans and Canadians.  Whilst we were sitting looking out at the wake, I spotted several dolphins playing!
During lunch, Kerren spotted a whale breaching, so we grabbed everything and dashed up to the top deck of the ship to look further – there were three whales!  (Not close enough for good pictures, but we saw them nevertheless!)

Later in the afternoon, we attended the Captain’s Circle party for Gold and Ruby members.  There were about 400 people there: free cocktails, canapes and a presentation – lasted about 45 minutes.  It was formal night so we finished the evening with dinner in the restaurant which was fabulous!  We have found some waiters – Marvin and Willy – who are very good fun, attentive and understanding of our humour!
